Il n\u2019emp\u00eache que les classes les plus ais\u00e9es &#8211; ou les esprits les plus curieux &#8211; ne se privaient pas de voyages d\u2019agr\u00e9ment, et l\u2019expression \u00ab\u00a0un travail de Romain\u00a0\u00bb n\u2019\u00e9tait pas forc\u00e9ment appropri\u00e9e!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial; font-size: small;\">Les \u00e9coliers et \u00e9tudiants romains avaient bel et bien des cong\u00e9s, 5 jours en mars et pendant tout l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9. Les plus favoris\u00e9s avaient m\u00eame la possibilit\u00e9 d\u2019aller \u00e9tudier en Gr\u00e8ce, par exemple. Pausanias (v. 115-180) avait publi\u00e9 une \u00ab\u00a0<em>Description de la Gr\u00e8ce<\/em>\u00a0\u00bb (toujours \u00e9dit\u00e9e) qui peut \u00eatre consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme l\u2019anc\u00eatre du guide touristique ! Les riches Romains, eux, \u00e9vitaient Rome en \u00e9t\u00e9 et se rendaient en vill\u00e9giature dans leurs r\u00e9sidences secondaires, notamment en Campanie, autour de Naples&#8230; et de Pomp\u00e9i.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: black; font-family: arial; font-size: small;\">Mais surtout, les f\u00eates en tous genres, religieuses ou non, \u00e9taient \u00e9tonnamment fr\u00e9quentes ! Toute activit\u00e9 (en particulier les affaires publiques) s\u2019interrompait lors des jours f\u00e9ri\u00e9s fixes (<em>stativae<\/em>), mobiles (<em>indictivae<\/em>) ou exceptionnels (<em>imperativae<\/em>), qui occupaient au total&#8230; parfois plus de la moiti\u00e9 du calendrier !<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Qui profitait de vacances dans l\u2019Antiquit\u00e9 ?
